Twas a wonderful comeback, to be in church after having been away for almost three (or four?) Sundays although I kept continuously alive for The Beacon my weekly reflection articles, a way of privately abiding in God, with prayers, scripture studies and meditation, prior writing my thoughts out.

Whilst looking through one of my old journals, I found this sensible and sound advice by Joseph Addison, hymn writer. I’m sorry, I can’t find the source.
He said: “If you wish success in life, make Perseverance your bosom friend, Experience your wise counsellor, Caution your elder brother, and Hope your guardian genius.”
